Get more involved with Unyts in 2015!
Looking for a way to give back in the New Year? Make a resolution that you won’t regret by getting involved with Unyts. We are always looking for people to share their time, talent and treasure as we continue to save and enhance lives, and raise awareness about the vital need for donation and transplantation in our community. Here are a few great options-
Register As An Organ & Tissue Donor
Over 125,000 people in the United States are waiting for a lifesaving organ, and thousands more are waiting for life enhancing tissue and eye donations. There exists a tremendous need for New Yorkers to designate themselves as organ, eye, and tissue donors by enrolling in the New York State Donate Life Registry. Register as a donor now. Also remember to talk with your family about your wishes to donate!
Donate Blood or Host a Blood Drive
By giving blood through Unyts you are making sure that your family, friends, neighbors and other members of your community have blood available when they need it. Take the time to donate blood. Make a difference in someone’s life. Schedule an appointment to donate now.
For more information on donating or hosting a blood drive please call 716.512.7940.
Honor A Hero
Unyts pays tribute to heroes of organ, eye and tissue donation through the “Honoring our Heroes” program. For the families of these donors, they really are heroes, and Unyts certainly feels the same way. Unyts is truly honored to share these very touching personal stories. Nominate your loved one.
Share Your Story
Unyts is looking for members of our community to share their story about blood donation with us. Do you donate blood or sponsor a blood drive for a specific reason and want to help motivate others to do so as well? Submit your story, and help spread the word about the importance of blood donation.
There are many volunteer opportunities available in which you can help Unyts further its mission, from acting as a guest speaker at schools and businesses, to working an information table at special events, providing clerical support, or assisting at blood drives. Unyts provides training for volunteers and has opportunities for service across Western New York. Become a Unyts volunteer.
Unyts strives to raise and distribute funds for public and professional education, improved technology, research and other services that will increase organ, eye, tissue and community blood donation awareness. The organization is committed to increasing the number of lives saved and enhanced through donation and transplantation, and welcomes charitable donations from the community in order to do so. There are a number of ways to support Unyts, including event sponsorship, memorial donations, auctions, basket raffles, and annual gifts. Make a donation today.
Unyts is a tax-exempt charitable organization as described in section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent allowable by law.
