Story as told by her mother, Laura

Nicole Lester’s life was cut short in May 2016 at the age of 20 following a car accident. As a registered organ donor, Nicole was able to save and enhance countless lives through her gift of organ and tissue donation. She continues to live on through the recipients of these donations and their very grateful families.

Nicole was strong willed, independent, and deeply loyal and loving. She was a very protective big sister to her siblings, Kevin & Christina. Nicole graduated from Frontier High School and later attended Niagara County Community College. She worked as an Assistant Manager at Tim Horton's on Lakeshore Road in Hamburg, and enjoyed music, laughter, friends and the Buffalo Bills & Buffalo Sabres. Nicole had been a blood donor in the past and felt passionate about organ donation.

Nicole’s family takes pride in the fact that in death she helped so many people. Hearing from her organ & tissue recipients has filled them with such joy, knowing that Nicole is living on through these people.

To honor Nicole’s memory, the Nicole P. Lester Memorial Scholarship was established. This scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating senior at Frontier High School who has registered to become an organ donor. Her family will also be holding the first annual Unyts blood drive in Nicole's honor in June of 2019.
