The U.S. Department of Health & Human Service’s Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) has launched the “Let Life Bloom” organ donation campaign and competition. The campaign is a special effort of HRSA’s Workplace Partnership for Life to mobilize the nation’s hospitals to increase the number of people in the country registered as organ, eye, and tissue donors.
ECMC has enrolled as a partner in the vital effort to promote organ donor awareness and registration and to help increase the number of donors on the New York State donor registry.
ECMC staff joined with Unyts representatives for a Flag Raising Ceremony held on the ECMC Health Campus November 9th, 2017. ECMC Corp. President & CEO Tom Quatroche and ECMC Hospital Police Officers raised the flag to officially launch the campaign and remind everyone who views it of the importance of organ donation. Other ceremony participants included: Unyts VP of Organ Services Kevin Gramlich, Unyts Manager of Hospital Development Amanda Habermehl, Unyts Director of Marketing & Development Sarah Diina, and ECMC Critical Care, Emergency/Trauma and Transplant Staff Members.
The “Let Life Bloom” campaign runs through April 30, 2018. For additional information about enrollment in the New York State Donor Registry, visit: http://www.unyts.org/get-involved/enroll-as-an-organ,-eye-and-tissue-donor
