COVID-19 Impact on Donate Life Month
Every April, ConnectLife celebrates Donate Life Month (DLM). This year was a little different. ConnectLife canceled all of our community outreach tables and Donate Life Month events across Western New York. We celebrated exclusively online.
We featured a 30 Day #DonateLifeMonth Challenge including digital activities and challenges to encourage our community to register as organ, eye and tissue donors
and to celebrate those that have saved lives through the gift of life.
Thank you to everyone who helped make Donate Life Month just as meaningful and impactful as years in the past. We are already looking forward to 2021!
2020 Theme: Garden of Life
The 2020 theme was Garden of Life. A garden and the insects within it serve as symbols of hope, courage and transformed life — themes repeatedly found within the donation and transplantation journey. Even in these difficult times, we can "keep going, keep growing."
NEW Invisible Threads Episodes
ConnectLife released three episodes of our podcast, Invisible Threads. Listen below:
Virtual #DonateLifeMonth Challenge
Our team created a virtual challenge throughout the month of April to spread awareness about the importance of registering your decision to be an organ, eye, and tissue donor, honor those who have given the gift of life, and engage our community in our mission.
We challenged our supporters to share a photo on social media participating in our daily challenges to celebrate Donate Life Month. The challenge details include:
- Participate in the day’s activity.
- Snap a photo.
- Post your photo to social media (make sure your post is public) with the hashtag #DonateLifeMonth and tag @weconnectlife.
- Challenge at least one friend to respond.
