South Buffalo Community Blood Drive for Unyts

The South Buffalo community is teaming up with Unyts to ensure that blood products are available for patients in need this summer. The demand for blood tends to outpace supply during the summer season, but Western New Yorkers have an opportunity to change that trend at an upcoming Unyts blood drive.

On Wednesday, August 1st the blood drive will run from 3:00-8:00pm at the Old First Ward Community Center.  All presenting donors will receive a free t-shirt.

The South Buffalo community has been so supportive of the blood drive, and many different people are pitching in to help make sure it is a success- South Buffalo Rugby, South Buffalo Senior Center, the Fire and Police Departments, and Mount Mercy Academy.

To schedule an appointment to donate blood, please contact Unyts at 716-512-7940, or you can sign up online at and click on Donate Blood. Walk-ins always welcome!

*As of January 1, 2012, Unyts operates under, d/b/a Unyts, WNY’s only Organ, Eye, Tissue and Community Blood Center. The organization is no longer Upstate NY Transplant Services.
