COVID-19 Update: Due to COVID-19, we will not be doing in-person events or outreach. Please reach out to us for virtual opportunities.
We offer several options for college students to learn more and help spread the word about organ, eye, tissue, and blood donation. Any of our Community Programs are suitable for this age group, or we have the Donate Life Club which integrates them all. Additional opportunities for colleges include:
ConnectLife frequently collaborates with colleges and universities to promote student engagement. We partner with the Western New York Service Learning Coalition, as well as other service related organizations to provide service learning opportunities for students. To brainstorm creative service learning project ideas, please contact Sarah Diina at (716) 529-4351 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Clinical experiences are limited due to the sensitive nature of our work.
The goals of Donate Life: Talk It Up! are: To provide the community with information about the lifesaving benefits of organ and tissue donation; to motivate a discussion about organ and tissue donation; and to answer questions and counter common misconceptions about donation. Presentations are conducted by trained staff and volunteers, all of whom have a personal connection to donation and transplantation.
Pre-Blood Drive Education
Prepare your group or organization for successful donation experience with our Pre-Blood Drive Education training. ConnectLife staff will train representatives from your organization to teach donors about the vital role that blood plays in our body, the continual need for blood in the community, and the importance of blood donation. We will focus on simple steps to a successful donation including proper meal preparation, what to wear, what to bring to a blood drive. The opportunity to give blood and/or deliver pre-drive education can help young people assume their place as contributing members of the community.
Help all donors experience the powerful sense of satisfaction that comes from knowing you've made a difference in the lives of others. Program length and delivery can be tailored to meet the needs of your organization.
