ConnectLife is a Community Blood Bank
As a community blood bank, ConnectLife offers Western New Yorkers the opportunity to save and enhance the lives of neighbors – through community blood donation.
What does community blood donation mean?
In 2005, ConnectLife, then Unyts, was approached by area hospitals looking for a cost-effective alternative for purchasing blood. By collecting, processing and distributing all the blood locally, ConnectLife’ Community Blood Service has already saved local hospitals over $10 million. By being a ConnectLife blood donor, you not only save the lives of your neighbors, but you can help us save our community money, too.
Since beginning collections in June 2007, ConnectLife is the primary supplier of blood products to Kaleida Health, ECMC, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Eastern Niagara Hospital, Wyoming County Community Health System, Olean General Hospital, Brooks-TLC Health System in Dunkirk and Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Our local hospitals need to maintain an adequate supply of blood for emergency situations, and it is up to ConnectLife and the generosity of our blood donors to help provide safe levels of blood inventory.
