A CRUCIAL SAVE:

Buffalo Sabres help ConnectLife solve big holiday blood need at WNY hospitals

Blood supplies at Western New York hospitals take a hit around the holidays with donors away on vacation and drives dealing with disruptions from the weather. But the need doesn’t stop – and those hospitals are getting a big assist from the Blue and Gold.

Two days before Christmas, the Buffalo Sabres are partnering with ConnectLife to hold a big blood drive at KeyBank Center’s 1970 Club – December 23rd from 10am to 4pm. Donors will be getting two free tickets to an upcoming Sabres game and an exclusive Sabres t-shirt. The drive will also include a photo booth, kids zone, visits from Sabretooth and live DJ to make the atmosphere bright for donors helping to save lives at a critical time of year.

Parking for the drive will be free at the KeyBank Center ramp. Close to 100 donors came to save lives at the last KeyBank Center drive in 2023, and ConnectLife is hoping to beat that number to make sure hospitals have enough to save lives this holiday season.

Blood donated to ConnectLife stays local, helping nearly every hospital in WNY’s eight counties maintain safe inventory levels. To schedule an appointment, visit ConnectLifeGiveBlood.org or call 716.529.4270.
